HOSPITAL AFFILIATIONS:

Dr. Zazulak is on staff at Strong Memorial and Clifton Springs Hospitals. He is also on staff at a relatively new Ambulatory Surgery Center, the Brighton Surgery Center.

The Brighton Surgery Center is the brainchild of 15 Rochester area physicians, including Dr. Zazulak. In the year 2000, they formed a partnership to work together to develop a state of the art ambulatory surgery center in Rochester that would help address our area’s shortage of operating room availability. They were committed to developing a center of excellence that would be staffed by highly experienced and dedicated nursing personnel and would utilize moderate technologic innovation to enable safe and successful outcomes from surgery, with a special emphasis on eye surgery. The physicians felt that by having an ownership interest in such a facility, they would be in a better position to ensure sufficient operating room availability for their practices’ patients, and would have control over assuring the best as far as staffing, technology and equipment. As owners, they would have the ability to avoid hospital administration hassles and red tape, and to optimize convenience and efficiency for their patients. They understood that patients appreciate free and proximate parking, streamlined registration, short wait times, courteous and professional treatment, and, most of all, great surgical results.

Rochester’s operating room shortage became more problematic when the Genesee Hospital closed in 2002. Three years of work culminated in the successful opening of Brighton Surgery Center, LLC in 2003.

Today, this ambulatory surgery center is widely recognized as an exemplary institute where innovation and quality are second to none. Patient satisfaction is extraordinary, yet costs are considerably lower than at hospitals. As such, it is truly a win-win situation for all involved. Dr. Zazulak performs the majority of his surgical procedures at the Brighton Surgery Center, conveniently located very near our office.
