PROTECTING YOUR VISION

PROTECTING YOUR VISION

Many Americans fear loss of vision more than any other medical mishap. This is an understandable concern, considering the importance eye sight plays in our lives. In fact, it has been estimated that four-fifths of what we know has been learned through the use of our eyes. For this reason, our staff takes the health of your eyes very seriously.

In a practical sense, we form a partnership with each patient in order to protect vision, prevent eye disease, and optimize visual function.

—- Modern Skills:   Dr. Zazulak stays up on the latest innovations in eye care and ophthalmic technology. He has a long-standing commitment to medical excellence and attention to detail. He takes continuing medical education (CME) courses to stay abreast of the latest advances in eye care and implements those which he believes are the most beneficial for our patients.

—- Caring: All members of our office staff strive to treat our patients with dignity, compassion and professionalism. We want to build strong meaningful relationships with our patients and to be more to them than “providers” of eyecare.

—- Prevention: Our ultimate goal is to help you achieve the best possible vision throughout your entire life. Since several eye diseases may have no early symptoms, regular eye examinations are very important in providing the prompt diagnosis necessary for successful treatment. For this reason, we recommend routine eye screening examinations and encourage patients to learn of warning signs of correctable vision problems.

—- Education: Dr. Zazulak believes that patients should be encouraged to be active participants in their health care and that education is invaluable as it applies to our patients as well as to himself. Many patients inquire about eye diseases and conditions, and want advice on where to go on the internet to learn. While self-diagnosis and treatment are NOT advisable, patient education most definitely is. The American Academy of Ophthalmology has a helpful website. Our doctor encourages patients to ask the questions they have so that they can better understand the relevant ocular science. He strives to explain diagnoses and treatments in a manner which is clearly understood, and encourages follow up questions from our patients and their families.
